Info Day on Youth in Action will be organized

In cooperation with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Education and Culture and organized by Croatian Agency for Mobility and EU Programs, Information Day on «Youth in Action» Program will be held in the EU Information Centre on 29 January, 2009, starting at 9 a.m.
"Youth in Action" Program is one of the European Commission's programs for the youth, youth organizations and all those involved in working with the youth. "Youth in Action" Program offers numerous possibilities for mobility and informal education; it promotes intercultural dialogue and is open to all young people, regardless of their education and social or cultural background.
By providing financial support, "Youth in Action" Program enables projects like youth exchange, volunteer services, education and establishing networks for working with youth, and developing of new partnerships in Europe. This program has been designed for young people between 15 and 28 years of age, non-profit youth organizations, youth leaders, trainers, project managers and organizers of youth activities and informal education.
By attending the Information Day events, participants will have a chance to become acquainted with the structure of "Youth in Action" Program and the possibilities it offers to the participants from South Eastern Europe. The participants in the training will also be informed about the knowledge required for preparation of project proposals within the Program. The activities planned for 2009 will be presented to the participants, together with some examples of best practice in the areas of youth exchange, European Volunteer Service and training and networking of the persons working with youth and youth organizations.
Information Day will be opened by Giorgio Marini, Coordinator of the European Commission's "Youth in Action" Unit, Tina Šarić, Acting Director of the Agency for Mobility and EU Programs, and a representative of the Department of Family Affairs of the Ministry of Family Affairs, War Veterans and Intergenerational Solidarity.
