STEIERMARK SIGNS UP FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

On 28th November 2007, in Renewable Energy House, Bruxelles, Franz Voves, Governor of Steiermark will sign the FEDARENE declaration for renewable energy and energy efficiency in the presence of Jean-Louis Joseph, President of FEDARENE and Alfonso Gonzalez Finat, Director for new and renewable sources of energy, energy efficiency and innovation in the European Commission.The signing of the declaration stands for a commitment to increase the share of renewable energy and to boost energy efficiency in the regions. The region of Steiermark agrees with the view of FEDARENE, that energy efficiency and renewable energy sources are very important cornerstones of sustainable development because they contribute to environment and climate protection, to local job creation and economic growth, to security of energy supply, to independence from energy price fluctuations as well as to social cohesion and innovation.
After the speeches and during the reception, guests will receive a guided tour through the Renewable Energy House showing the latest state of technology in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
