Grand Festival of Europe open day

The Committee of the Regions (CoR), the political assembly which represents
the voice of Europe's regions and cities, will open its doors to the public as
part of the 'Grand Festival of Europe' hosted by the EU institutions in Brussels
on Saturday, 7 June.
From 11.00, Belgian Committee of the Regions President Luc Van den Brande, host of the event, will be on hand to meet visitors to the CoR's headquarters building at 101 Rue Belliard. Inside, they will discover a lively and colourful exhibition, showcasing Europe's diverse culture and regional strength. He said: "When the Committee of the Regions opens its doors it becomes clear what the European motto of 'united in diversity' is all about and why the EU needs to take more account of regional interests."
The 5 000 expected visitors will have the chance to find out more about the Committee of the Regions' work and to savour the flavour of more than 50 regions and cities, who will have stands in the exhibition. They aim to transform the CoR building into the best exhibition in town and an unmissable event for the whole family. The main theme of the festival is the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.
