On May 26, a lecture was held on future possibilities of employment at EU institutions for Croatian citizens in the overcrowded hall of the EU Info Centre, organized by the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Embassy of the Republic of France in Croatia and the Centre for European studies in Strasbourg (CEES/ENA). Julie Leprêtre from the Centre for European studies in Strasbourg, talked about the possibilities and ways of obtaining positions at EU institutions, and pointed out the possibility of announcing job vacancies at EU institutions for Croatian citizens one year prior to Croatia's EU accession, which is an exceptional possibility for Croatian citizens because after the accession, the competition for the positions in question will increase significantly. Lino Molteni, Task Manager for Internal Market, Statistics and Consumer Protection at the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia, talked about his personal experience of working and competing for positions at EU institutions, and highlighted the multinational environment, as well as the possibility of career development in various sectors, which is a result of the system of obligatory job rotation applied at EU institutions, as the benefits of working for the EU. As a local employee at the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia, Rima Joujou-Deljkić, task manager for Social policy and Employment, talked about the possibilities of creating careers at EU institutions. The lecture for students entitled 'Mobility in education and career: the possibilities offered by EU institutions' was held on May 26, 2008, at the Council Chamber of the Faculty of Philosophy.
