CoR reports on Lisbon Strategy at Spring Council

The Committee of the Regions (CoR) will deliver a report on the effects of the revised Lisbon Strategy for growth and jobs and the outlook beyond 2008 at the European Spring Council on 14 March. The CoR will also ask to regularly report on the implementation of the Lisbon Strategy and its follow-up at local and regional level.
The report, to be presented at the summit by CoR President Luc Van den Brande, was drawn up by the CoR's Lisbon Monitoring Platform at the request of the Council in 2006. Based on feedback from 104 EU regions and cities, it assesses the impact of the strategy and examines the extent to which Structural Funds' expenditure is helping to achieve innovation and environmental goals.
