Opening of the Alps-Mediterranean Euroregion Brussels office
28.01.2008, 13:18
The five Presidents of the Alps-Mediterranean Euroregion are due to officially inaugurate their new office in Brussels on 31 January.
Committee of the Regions members Mercedes Bresso, President of Piemonte and leader of the PES group, Luciano Caveri, President of Valle d'Aosta, and Michel Vauzelle, President of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, will join Jean-Jack Queyranne, President of Rhône-Alpes and Claudio Burlando, President of Liguria, at the opening ceremony. European Commissioners Danuta Hübner (regional policy) and Meglena Kuneva (consumer policy), together with European Parliament Vice-President Mario Mauro, will also be present.
The opening will be followed by a reception, with products from the five regions, at the Concert Noble (Rue d'Arlon 82).
The Euroregion, launched at the OPEN DAYS European Week of Regions and Cities last October, will be based at Rue due Trône 62 - where Piemonte and the two French regions already have their own individual representations. Valle d'Aosta is due to move its office to the building in April, whilst Liguria will retain its own representation (Casa Liguria) in Rue du Luxembourg.
