Central region of Croatia
Zagrebačka County, also popularly known as “Zagreb ring”, has a population of about 310,000 and covers an area of nearly 3,000 km2 between the border with Slovenia in the west, Moslavina in the east, and between Zagreb in the north and the Kupa river in the south. The County comprises 9towns and 25municipalities. Its traffic position together with economic potential and human resources has brought Zagrebačka County among the most propulsive and fastest growing counties in Croatia in the last five years.
The county encircles Zagreb, a university, financial, political and cultural centre of Croatia, like a ring, and with daily migrations of more than 300,000 people it makes a unique economic entity with a population of over one million with best business possibilities in Croatia and this part of Europe.
Regional traffic key
Zagrebačka County takes up the territory over which all road, railway, air, power, infrastructure, underground and surface corridors in the direction of the west (Slovenia, Italy), north (Austria, Hungary), south (the Adriatic Sea) and east (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro) pass. All pan-European road routes in Zagrebačka County are built as the full profile motorway. The largest Croatian airport (Zagreb-Pleso) is located in Zagrebačka County.

With doubled realised profit, almost 70% increase in newly created value in the last five years, the County is the place of dream come true for realisation of business dreams of several thousand entrepreneurs, with flexible fast growing small and medium sized enterprises represented in the highest percentage.
The vision of development supported in the County area with measures, incentives and new investments results in continuous growth according to all indicators of successfulness: from 100% growth of realised profit, 70% growth of value added, over 50% export growth and 65% income growth to 40% growth of the number of companies within the TOP 400 in Croatia.
Because of such overall atmosphere there are in Zagrebačka County at this moment around ten active enterprise zones, carefully planned, which have free areas for new enterprises and production programmes.
